I wish my parents were here to see all that I've accomplished. To see my classroom and look at what my kids have learned. To take a tour of our first house and talk about redecorating. To see my little girl and hear how much she reminds them of me.
I wish they were here so I could call them up whenever I have a bad day and need come encouragement. But most of all, I wish they were here so that their granddaughter could know them and know what amazing people they were.
Aw, Brittany you know that they are watching down on you Dru and Susan and see how much of a blessing they are to you! They are so proud of you and everything you have done with your life! You know that they wish they could be here too, but these trials have only made you stronger and gotten you are where you are today! I know you don't hear this from me a lot, but I look up to yo so much and just think if she can do it, then I have a pretty good life ahead of me! I LOVE YOU SO MUCH!!!
ReplyDeleteBrittany, there isn't a day that goes by that your mom and dad are not looking over you and smiling with pride for all that you have accomplished. I did not know your dad, but Brittany, your mom was a huge impact on my life. I spent 3 solid years singing under her. I realize I am not a great singer. I could never sing my scales in front of her because she intimidated me in a good way. But she never gave up on me. Your mom was the kind of person who could see potential in someone way before that person could. She was very intense and passionate, but that is what made her the amazing woman she was. Never doubt that they can see and feel what you have done with your life since then. When you see a butterfly flutter by your nose, think of your mom. When the wind rustles the leaves in your yard or a breeze catches a strand of your hair, think of your dad. They are with you. Their spirit is with you. They know what a wonderful person you have become, and because of you and those who love you, little Susan will know how wonderful they were. Just let me sit with Susan for an hour, and she will know what an amazing woman your mom was from my perspective. So glad I found you on facebook and now can follow your blog!
ReplyDeleteYou have no idea how much personal stories like that mean to me. It's an incredible testament to her legacy and it reminds me of how many people she touched through her music. Songs have an amazing way of taking us back to places and people important to our heart and whenever I hear a certain song that reminds me of mom it's as if I can feel her hand on my shoulder and I know that she's still with me.
